TDC hosts Tiling Seminar
As part of TDC’s ongoing commitment to its many patrons, the local firm partnered with the Virgin Islands based Tristar Developments, LLC and recently hosted a Tiling Seminar at the TDC Home and Building Depots in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The activity drew over two hundred and fifty (250) persons that visited the retail outlets on 28th and 29th October, 2005 and provided the opportunity for them to learn the basic techniques of tile setting and placement.
The seminar was facilitated by Kittitians Mr. Curtis Claxton, Theodore Delocoudray, and Fabian Claxton, and also saw the launch of their invention the Tristar Set-&-Go, a lightweight adjustable tile spacing device that helps in obtaining perfect spacing and grout line consistency between tiles.
The “I" shaped frame adjusts in both length and width. It is equipped with special attachable legs that eliminate the common usage of having multiple bags and buckets filled with the old fashion conventional plastic spacers.
According Mr. Trevor Walters,
Floor Supervisor at the St. Kitts
Branch of the Superstore, the
activity is one of several
programmes being organized
in-house in collaboration with
professionals within the building
and construction fields to teach
patrons the basic tricks of the trade
of home improvements.
“We wanted to give our Customers/Clients the opportunity to acquire the knowledge of how to perform home improvement tasks, the simple techniques used by professionals, as well as, introduce them to the products that will make these jobs easier and less time consuming.”
The participants highly praised the new innovation and both Companies for making the products readily accessible within the local market to complement their projects.
The Tristar Set-&-Go is now available at the TDC Home and Building Depots in St. Kitts and Nevis.
